These relays are appropriate for monitoring the reverse flow of power from single-phase or three-phase generators. Reverse flow of emergency power is also monitored by these relays. The direction of the current flow is indicated by these relays. It calculates the power as v x i [reverse current] x cos æ.The measurement of reverse power is done by considering 5 a as the maximum reverse current for 100 per cent reverse power. The relays can be preset from 2 per cent to 20 per cent reverse power. The relay trips when the current from the generator becomes reversed and exceeds the setting. |
