The Switch Mode Power Supply operates from 110-230 VAC single- phase inputs. At the input stage is a high performance bi- directional EMI RFI filter that filters the noise both ways. Next is the rectifier and bulk capacitor filter, which converts the AC to high voltage DC. The high Voltage DC is then chopped and stepped down at a high frequency, for this a high frequency ferrite isolation transformation is used. The pulsing DC is then rectified and filtered by a pi section filter to produce the required DC voltage. Both voltage and current regulation is achieved by effectively controlling the duty cycle of the chopper. Alfatronix is manufacturing Switch Mode Power Supply.
