It is the most common variety of flow meter and includes transit time and contains both a sending and a receiving transducer. Both sending and receiving transducers are mounted on either side of the flow meter or on the pipe wall. The sending transducer sends an ultrasonic signal at an angle from one side of the pipe to the other and back.
