| Sharplex filters [india] pvt ltd manufactures vertical pressure leaf filters for filtration of liquids with suspended solid contents up to 7%. Common characteristics of the vertical pressure leaf filter: filter frames are placed in hermetic chambers and the cake deposited on the filter leaves is removed and discharged without the intervention of operators; it is possible to de-oil the cake properly by sending compressed air and/or steam to the filter chamber at pressure around 3 bar; cake de-oiling and discharge are both very rapid and washing of cake/extraction is possible inside. Operational mechanism of vertical pressure leaf filter: sharplex vertical pressure leaf filter consists of a vertical mild steel vessel with a number of vertical stainless steel filter leaves. Since both sides of the leaves are used for filtering, a large filtration area is obtained in relatively small vessel. The oil/chemical slurry is pumped into the filter and the filtration starts. The filtered oil/chemical is taken to outlet through a manifold. No filter cloth is required. The solid accumulates on the filter leaves and a thick cake is formed. Pneumatic vibrator or oscillating sluice header carries out automatic dislodging of filtered cake. Filter leaves are made of molybdenum stainless steel and they remain in working condition for many months. Dry or wet cake discharge is possible. Filters are available in sizes 1 to 120 m2. Applications of leaf filters: resins, bleaching earth/ activated carbon, crude oil, sulphur, ni-catalyst, glucose, fatty acids, brine, winterisation, etc.
