Pon engineers offers electrostatic oil purifier. This cleans: hydraulic oils, lubricating oils, non conducting oils with moisture below 500 ppm. Advantages: filtration efficiency is up to 0.01 microns; prevents restriction or sticking of moving parts such as servo, directional valves; decreases component wear; increases efficiency in heat exchanger which otherwise is lost due to deposit; reduces friction, the resultant heat, extra energy hence required, by removing the insoluble matter that settle at warm areas; does not have the disadvantages of a mechanical filtration system like clogging, pressure losses, etc.; removes all polar, non polar and neutral particles; and increases oil life and reduces maintenance. Principle: oil molecules breakdown chemically and additives degrade with time, pressure and temperature. They oxidise and are polar in nature. They combine to form an insoluble sediment/contaminant, which are termed as varnish and tar. Electrostatic oil cleaner has electrodes on which all types of dirt non-polar, polar and neutral particles deposit. Even sub micronic particles deposit on the surface of filter paper provided for this purpose. The plc system indicates when the papers have to be replaced. Plc based controller with lcd display indicates: display of fault/action to be taken; oil temperature; hour meter; high voltage applied; high voltage unit current consumption.
