| Self-lubricating bearings, feroform t814, ferolube and fiberglide used in hydro-mechanical equipments, are manufactured by tenmat ltd, uk. Tenmat materials fit in a broad array of general water control applications including valves, gates, chains, rollers, locks bridges, etc, and in water and thermal turbines. Feroform t814 is a pure composite self-lubricating bearing , containing ptfe [teflon] particles throughout the matrix of the material. These bearings have a coefficient[ constant measure] of friction in the range of 0.04 -0.10 depending on the conditions. The self-lubricating bearings possess advantages of abrasion and corrosion resistance, load carrying capabilities, easy handling and installation . But more importantly , these self-lubricating bearings are price-competitive. Ferolube is plugged bronze bearing , provided with lubricating inserts. This bearings have same coefficient of friction in all conditions. The applications of this bearings are in radial gates, fixed wheel crates, wicket gates and regulating apparatus applications , common in water turbines. Fiberglide ptfe fabric lined bronze bearings were originally used as a pioneer greaseless product for water turbines. One of the reasons for extreme fiberglide bearing life is elastic fg liner, which can take edge loads even in large kaplan units and under heavy vibrations especially in pump turbines.
