• Add to Inquiry Basket | Metlok precoat services offers pre-coated adhesives under the brand name precoat. When a fastener coated with precoat is screwed on, the microcapsules rupture due to the shearing action of the thread flanks or simply because of the pressure exerted on them. The liquid components thus released react to form a hard and tough polymer. This polymer between the mating fasteners works just in the same way a polymer formed with anaerobic adhesive works locking and sealing the parts against vibration and shock. The microcapsules are tiny liquid droplets enclosed within a thin polymeric wall and have an average diameter of 0.15 mm. Together with a binder/ carrier in a solvent they form the precoat system. Every batch of precoat is tested in accordance with ot standards based on din 267 part 27. Application areas: flywheel screws, intake manifold fixing, oil and water pump, injection and air flow regulator, generator and starter, fixing of turbo charger aggregates, threaded plugs, cylinder head studs, gearbox, differential gear unit, etc.
