| Schmalz specializes in area of vacuum technology, a specialist for automation with vacuum. The company provides a complete range of special suction pads for handling metal sheets in various shapes, sizes and material finishes. While the round suction pads are used for the transport of metal sheets and panels in many areas of automated machining, the oval suction pads are better for the handling of long workpieces such as sections or bodywork segments. The bellows-type versions with corrugations, provide compensation for tolerances in the positions of the workpieces or in the feeder systems, thus permitting the safe transport of workpieces with uneven or curved surfaces. Mounting elements for sheet-metal suction pads: all suction pads for sheet metal are available with a wide range of mounting elements: designed to fit on all common load crossbeams and feeder systems; easy mounting of the suction pads; high stability. Suction pads made of vu1: suction pads made of the special material vu1 are characterised by their extreme resistance to cracking and tearing. Compared with conventional materials, the lifetime of vu1 suction pads is up to 20 times longer. Further highlights: good resistance t o horizontal forces resulting from dynamic stresses - especially on oily sheets; secure holding of the sheets during the entire transport operation; no vacuum-deformation of thin sheets or aluminium sheets; wide range of available diameters. All advantages at a glance: long operating lifetime; unaffected by very high mechanical stresses; sealing lip with special slot for very high horizontal holding forces - especially on oily sheets. Shmalz offers further mounting elements for suction pads designed especially for the automobile industry, such as adapter for clamp mounting; rectangular adapter with ball; and rectangular adapter with securing screw.
