Resistoflex offers resistoflex-super-shock absorbing mats for forging hammers. The mats use a composite synthetic rubber reinforced and fabric pad; synthetic neoprene rubber imparts fungus and mildew resistance as well as high oil resistance to the mats. The mats also have high shock damping characteristics [damping constant is 0.41]. Its ration of successive amplitues of 1.6 to 1 is about 4 times that of natural rubber and 100 times that of steel. This high damping value ensures that the entire shock is absorbed by the mat between successive blows of the hammer. The breakdown compressive strength is 10 times the normal functioning stress, which ensures long life.
