Strain gauge is the latest innovative venture from haris enterprise. External force applied to any elastic material creates stress, which afterwards generate strain in the deformation of material. Such strain is measured to determine the degree and behaviour of forces such as stress or load. Strain gauges, basically used for this purpose, are constructed by bonding a fine electric resistance wire or photo-etched metallic resistance foil to an electric insulation base attaching gauge leads. The strain generated in the specimen is refreshed through the base to the fine wire or foil, where expansion or contraction occurs. This results in the fine wire or foil experiencing resistance variation, exactly proportional to the strain. The resistance change is very small and needs a wheatstone bridge circuit to convert it to voltage output. The strain gauges are connected to a strain meter and measured on a digital or analogue display. The company provides many types of strain gauges for mechanical, marine, aircraft, civil engineering applications and for use in automobile, architecture, and medical applications.
