| Deublin co, usa, offers a specially designed range of rotating unions to satisfy various requirements of steel industry. The life of rolls [which are subjected to very high temperature] can be improved to a significant extent by internal cooling with the help of continuous casting machines. The continuous casting machine unions provide internal cooling by the transfer of water into and outside the rolls. These unions are exclusively designed for the roughest environments such as water hammering. Superior seal materials such as silicon carbide are employed to achieve ultimate wear resistance. In order to water cool the rolls, the water service unions are used in the annealing and heat treatment furnaces where the slabs are reheated for further processing. Low speed hydraulic service rotating unions hydraulically activate the expanding mandrels of the recoilers in the hot strip mills where the slab is converted into coils and sheets. These rotating unions are available in single, double, triple as well as four passage models.
