| Maco corporation offer constricting type of clutches and brakes, type cb, made by airflex division of eaton corporation, u.S.A. Type cb element assembly is designed and built to provide the most dependable clutch or brake service in the most exacting industrial applications. This type of constricting type cb, clutches are best suited for high speed, cyclic operation, as well as for coupling and general power transmission. The primary feature of the cb design and construction is the airflex torsional resilient principle, made possible by the transmission of power, through the sidewalls of the flexible neoprene and cord actuating tube. The flexibility also permits minor shaft misalignment. Friction shoes are attached to the tubes inside diameter by pins, which in turn are held in positions by lockwires. Pressurising the tube forces the friction shoes to engage around a cylindrical drum. Cb elements are available in 20 sizes and give a wide option of torque capacity, through single and dual flanged element bolted together, to get twice the torque capacity of the single element. The additional feature that are available with this type of clutches includes one moving component, cushioned action, flexible coupling and split elements.
