Secomax polycrystalline cubic boron nitride inserts are highly wear-resistant and have the capability to maintain a consistent cutting edge while providing long tool life. Seco tools offers a new cost effective concept in centre locking [c-lock] pcbn inserts. Seco`s new full face inserts are made using a new high-tech manufacturing process that uses no brazed joint and maintains the strength needed for the demanding applications that are typical in high productivity machining. The results are two-fold: reduced overall cost per cutting edge and an increased number of parts produced per insert. The effect of which has a significant overall impact on productivity for a variety of applications and materials. By combining the latest hole making technology with full-faced pcbn blanks, seco tools are able to produce the complex c-locking hole system directly into the pcbn/tungsten carbide layer. This offers the consumer advantages such as low cost per edge; full faced pcbn format which is integrated into the wc backing; multiple cutting edges; positive geometries for reduced cutting forces; no braze joints; extensive range of insert geometries including c, d, s and t- style; accommodated in standard tool holders and boring bars; and wide variety of grades for both roughing and finishing operations.
