Phoenix contact provides contact insets with screw connectors that are available for the variocom industrial plug connector modular system to allow users to route plug connectors through switch cabinets and terminal boxes. The performance data for the three different contact insets are identical to the plug connector series for directly connecting of circuit boards. Three modules are available, ie, two- pin, 400 v, 20 a, 0.2 to 4 mm" wire cross section; six-pin, 250 v, 8 a, 0.14 to 1.5 mm wire cross section; and eight-pin, 125 v, 8 a, 0.14 to 1.5 mm wire cross section. The contact insets can be labelled. They offer coding protection and can be combined with each other. Housings are available in plastic, metal and emc. The emc housings consist of copper-plated and nickel- plated die-cast zinc and offer industrial plug connectors protection from electromagnetic rays. The seamless metal jacket conducts particularly well and protects plants from harmful interference. The cable shielding is emc connected to the housing with an iris spring, two cone washers and a pressure screw.
