| The surge voltage protection device cbt-2m2isdn from phoenix contact is a plastic socket strip with two mains-equipment sockets and two rj 45 sockets for isdnso connection points of telecommunications equipment. The protection device provides the telecom interface with coarse protection through gas filled surge arresters with a down conductor to pe and one fine protection per core. Coarse and fine protection elements have fail safe characteristics, ie, a defined short circuit in the case of overloading. The mains feed line is provided with equipment protection consisting of a protective circuit of thermically monitored varistors and a gas filled surge voltage arrester. Led displays signalise the operation and malfunction of the protection device. The protection device can be easily mounted in front of and connected with the telecommunications equipment to be protected, such as telephones, modems, answering machines, telefaxes and pc interface boards.
