Ahmedabad-based vijiya engineers has introduced shell and tube dx chiller. The shell is equipped from ms erw pipes or rolled from ms plates and tubes constructed with plain copper tubes. Connections include are as follows:
- shell side - ms pipe with companion flanges;
- tube side - ms pipe with companion flanges.
painting is completed using synthetic enamel paint [after two coats of red oxide primer]. Special chillers according to design codes is, asme & tema are manufactured from materials like ms or ss tubes and ss shells. Tube sheets are manufactured from ms plate and end covers are fabricated from ms plates. Pressure testing for shell side has pressure testing of 350 psi [hydraulic] and tube side has the same of 350 psi [pneumatic]. There is a variety of models available with nominal capacity having range from 3 to 150 tr. The ranges of shell diameter and tube length are 6-30 inch and 5-12 feet. There are other products are also available such as shell and tube condensers, heat exchanger, inter coolers, after coolers and oil coolers.
