ring rolling / rolled ring
pjgpl rolled rings are manufactured in material like, alloy steel, aluminum, carbon steel, copper, stainless steel, etc., upto 1 meter [1000mm] in diameters. The company also machine these rings as customer drawings and specifications, on our cnc machines and special purpose machines.
seamless forged rings are manufactured by ring rolling. The process consists of a metal preform [pierced discs or thick walled, ring shaped blanks] called donut. This donut is heated and placed over the idler. The idler applies pressure to the metal preform against the drive roll. Ring diameter is increased as the continuous pressure reduces the wall thickness. The axial rolls control the height of the ring.
the advantage of the ring rolling process is the reduction in rough weight in this type of forging, thereby making huge saving in raw material costs and machining time & costs.
