Manleo designs has launched a range of rotary edge finders for use on vertical spindle cnc machining centres/jig boring machines. These jig boring machine tools are used for taking edge references on components within ±0.005 mm accuracy. The rotary edge finder has to be held on a collect adaptor and rotated at around 400-600 rpm and the stylus has to be advanced towards the reference edge in microns. The shank and the stylus at one point become concentric and further advance of the stylus even by one micron makes the stylus to slip suddenly out. This point is taken as reference to find the reference of the spindle centre with respect to the reference edge.
