| Centre for design and development manufactures honz vertical hydraulic honing machine., this machine incorporates single stroke honing. Very high accuracies of size and cylindricity can be obtained on bore of components. The stock removal takes place in one stroke, rather than applying many strokes. With a stock removal of 0.02 mm to 0.04 mm, an accuracy of 0.001 mm is obtained. Precision tools between dia 5 mm and dia 60 mm have been used successfully on bores of between 3 and 200 mm length. The process is useful on materials such as hardened and unhardened steel, cast iron, carbides, non-ferrous metals and on non-metallic materials such as ceramics and glass. The machine, marketed by micronz, was displayed at imtex 1995 and bagged fie foundation award. Cast iron hydraulic control valve is the critical component for single stroke honing. . Honing heads for different machines are also supplied. The company also manufactures single and multispindle honing machines including single pass honing for interrupted bores like in hydraulic valve bodies. It has stock removal of 0.040 mm, 0.015 mm and 0.005 mm; surface finish is 6 mm, 3 mm and 1 mm; diamond tool grit isd 15 1, d 75, d 30. It has tolerance of 0.002 mm, cylindricity 0.0015 mm, ovality 0.002 mm and surface finish 0.001 mm.
