Cmc limited manufactures core remote terminal unit with advantage of capabilities of real time operating system. The remote terminal unit comes with pc 104 or pci/ cpci backplane based on performance requirement. The rtu comes with facility of communicating on 1 serial port and data acquisition module on the other port and by this sending the data to the host which is acquired from the field.
the company supplies core-remote terminal unit with communication between host and rtu as per iec-870-5-1 standard protocol and between rtu and 1/0 modules as per modbus standard protocol. The rtu also comes with facility of acquiring data from 1/0 modules on backplane and supporting local display with gui and local printer. The company provides the core remote terminal unit with gps interface for accurate time stamps for soe [sequence of events].
the rtu comes with a local monitoring system which queries it for data continuously and reports the remote host after acquiring the data. This local monitoring system of the rtu can also be applied for monitoring digital and analogue inputs from the field. The rtu interfaces with data acquisition modules and acquires data on one of the serial ports. The company offers the rtu with c86 cpu and the salient features of extending the i/o points for controlling and monitoring using i/o modules in multi-drop.
