Selection of elevator traction machines:-
-to carry out the selection of elevator traction machine the following data must be given.
-rated load, cabin weight, cabin speed, roping ratio, travel height, traction sheave diameter, rope diameter, no of ropes, and type of groove required.
Salient features:
-monoblock housing of graded cast iron.
-compact dimensions and low weight.
-high speed shaft made out of hardened alloy steel.
-worm wheel made out of special grade of phosphor bronze to achieve longer life.
-brake operating mechanism of electromagnetic type to operate on 200 or 110v dc.
-ease of assembly and dismantling.
Lubrication:
Traction machine is supplied in completely assembled condition without oil. The oil used for lubrication is special
Polyglycol base synthetic oil. This oil has excellent non-ageing stability, which guarantees high efficiency.
Recommended synthetic lubricants:
-bharat shell : tivela s 220
-castrol : tribol 800-220
-fuchs : renolin pg 220
-kluber : klubersynth gh-6-220
Safety precaution:
Protect the rotating shaft extension and sheave pulley with safety guards.
