Agt electronics ltd. Has introduced universal tester [model tcm-1000 [sp] ]which has been designed to address the need for telecom line staff.
Its salient features include:
1. 16 khz metering pulse checking-it counts the duration and units; in-coming call [clip] facility verification at customer/exchange ends;
2. Dialled number testing both pulse and tone [dtmf];
3. Checking for proper pulse-rate for different destinations. Checking whether pr occurs or not at std
Booths-sometimes inadvertently pr is given along with 16 khz and this may have to be checked and reprogrammed to give only 16 khz pulse to avoid misuse and public inconvenience; portable, rugged and rechargeable battery operation;
4. Inexpensive way to cross check meter readings in case of customer complaints of over charging; and testing of exchange equipment prior to despatch/ commissioning.
This low cost test instrument is very useful for telecom companies.
