These valves overcome the difficulties that are experienced sometimes in a conventional air valve with the vulcanite ball that tends to get caught in the emergent air stream and blows shut the large orifice. By the application of hydrodynamic principles a unique feature has been introduced through which the large orifice always remains open irrespective of the velocity of the air discharged and is closed positively as soon as water rises in the valve
