The main spindle drive gears are constructed of chrome, hardened & precision ground nickel steel. Bed is made of high tensile strength cast iron. They have rigid beds for taking maximum loads, bed ways, flame hardened & precision ground for utmost preciseness. The main spindle is 64rpm maximum, & runs on precision taper roller bearing. Norton gearboxes are with oil bath & full range of threading charts. All the parts are hardened & ground. Preciseness is tested according to is-1878 [part 1] 1971 standard. |
