| Promtech chemicals has introduced petroleum solvent based de watering oil, aquanil dwo that also acts as excellent rust preventive, by deposition of a thin film of rust preventive on the treated components. Aquanil dwo is light brown to amber, slight viscous, volatile, non toxic non corrosive liquid. A specific gravity of aquanil dwo is 0.82 ±0 02. It has oil absorption value nearly of 30 to 35%. It has excellent water displacement. It is non-drying and is applied by dipping/spray. It has resultant film thickness of 0.5 to 1 micron. It passes 72 hours salt spray test. The coverage is 200- 250 sq.Ft per liter by brushing. It is removable by swabbing with thinners. It is usable for fabricated ferrous and non-ferrous metal components, and on all pickled, phosphated, blackodised and electroplated components preferably by dipping method. Especially it is recommended for metals pickled in hydrochloric acid baths [which are prone to rusting]. The treated components now acquire 2 to 3 months of indoor rust protection.
