This voice data multiplexer uses prioritized cell-based switching techniques to optimally multiplex data traffic and real-time voice traffic.
it also uses sophisticated bandwidth management techniques for dynamically allotting bandwidth to a voice or data channel on need basis. Cygnus 731 compresses voice to 4.8, 6.4, 7.2, 8.0, 9.6 or 10.4 kbps - can be used for voice-data multiplexing at link speeds right from 9.6 kbps up. This voice data multiplexer can be connected to routers, computers, terminals, phones, pabxs, fax machines, etc. This multiplexer offers permanent virtual circuit with alternate path facility for data; stored number [hot line] dialing facility for voice and can be used with terrestrial or satellite based leased lines.
it provides menu-driven, password-protected supervisory interface for configuring, monitoring and diagnosing any unit in the network.
