| Amar engineering works manufacturers filter, pressure leaf filters which consist of vertical mild steel vessel with a number of vertical stainless filter leaves. Since both sides are used for filtering, a large filtration area is obtained in a relatively small vessel. The filtration is done with a filter aid. The oil/chemical slurry is pumped into the filter. A filtering layer is formed on the leaves and the filtration starts through the cake. The filtered oil is taken to outlet through the manifold. The solid accumulates on the filter and a thick cake is formed. When the pressure reaches 3-3.5 kg/cm², the cake is dried with steam/air and discharged by a mechanically operated vibrator/pneumatic vibrator through a large sized bottom outlet and hence no opening of filter [from top] is required for cleaning of leaves. No filter cloth is required for filtration hence large savings over plate and frame type of filter as the latter one involves very high cleaning and maintenance period as well as cost of filter cloth. The advantages with this category of filters are rate of filtration is very high, oil/chemical retention in filter cake is very low, the operating vessel is close and compact, so operation is very clean. This kind of can find in market in sizes of 5 to 40 m².
